There are days when I miss having to report for work in fancy shoes and dresses, and days when I think I should rejoin the people who have buildings to rush to every morning. I miss having people to talk to or sigh in exasperation over seemingly impossible deadlines with. Sometimes, I even think I miss riding in elevators, and rushing to beat the clock, so I don’t get fined for coming in late.

But, then, I see this picture of me tackling work at 8am in the kitchen, and remember what it was I traded my regular 9 to 5 job for – roses, Lipton Brisk tea served piping hot from a pot, tasty smells coming a kitchen that’s slowly coming to life, sunshine streaming in from the window, and the chance to go back to bed, play with the kids, read a book, or just sit idly on the stoop whenever I want.

I’m happy here, and with what I now do. There’s laughter, noise when I want it, stillness, food, crayons, the pitter-patter of little feet, and mornings like this when I can run my fingers through my soul.

I kind of envy you chin.. you work at home.. you get to be with the little girls.. plus the hub cooks for you. you don’t spend to buy new corporate clothes.. you can sleep when you want, drink tea when you feel like it.. and best of all you get paid. you have the best of both worlds..

If I could, I’d stay at home too. I love reading to my daughter and helping (drilling)her with Math facts. I’d like to be the kind of mom that’s always around, like how my mother was. Kanindot sa imong life :)

No matter how much we complain about the boring stuff we have to write, the gazillion things that we have to do, and the endless fear of ending up with a dud for a client, still nothing beats the perks of working from home. Aren’t you glad you took the plunge when you did? :-D

If it wasn’t for my dad’s office, i wouldn’t experience working from home. I didn’t know what i was thinking working at a “nocturnal corporation”, ask iris she knows what i mean. but i’m glad i did, i may miss them days but if it weren’t for that i wouldn’t appreciate what i got now. cheers to being a homebuddy and earning!
